Crossdock Shipping Order
Overview
This topic explains how to work with cross-dock shipping orders in Dock2dock.
⚠️ If the Freight Management module is enabled, all shipping orders must be created or edited via consignment manifests.
Prerequisites
Before creating a shipping order, ensure the following setup is complete:
- A crossdock partner has been configured in the system.
- Relevant freight companies have been added and are available for selection.
Without these prerequisites, shipping orders cannot be processed.
Create Shipping Order
- Click + New
- Select cross-dock partner
- Select from the drop-down list the Distribution Centre to which you will be delivering the handling units.
- Choose the Dispatch Date on which the stock will leave your warehouse
- Choose the Delivery Date & Time on which the stock will be delivered to the Distribution Centre.
Assign Sales Orders to Shipping Order
To ensure accurate shipping and partner notifications, sales orders must be properly assigned to a shipping order. Follow these steps:
Prerequisites
The Shipping Order must be in Active state.
To assign sales orders to the shipping order:
- Click on the Assign Sales Orders button. This option is enabled only when the shipping order is active.
- A popup window will appear showing all Sales Orders that share the same dispatch date as the shipping order.
- From the list, click the sales orders that should be included in this shipping order.
- Finalise the assignment by clicking Complete.
The selected sales orders are now linked to the shipping order. You can easily track which orders are part of the shipment. Once the shipping order is dispatched, the cross-dock partner will be automatically notified.
Print Labels
Prerequisites
Before printing cross-dock labels, ensure the following setup is complete:
- The Printer Agent is installed and configured with at least one available printer.
- Handling Unit Profiles have been created and are ready for use.
Printing Options
Dock2Dock provides multiple ways to print cross-dock labels:
- Mobile App – print directly from your device.
- Individual Sales Order – access labels from the order view.
- Crossdock Shipping Order – print labels for the shipping order
Printing via Crossdock Shipping Order
Navigate to the Crossdock Shipping Order.
- Click the Print Crossdock Labels button.
- From the list of assigned sales orders, select the one you want to print.
- Choose the number of labels, handling type and nearest printer
- Click Create
Two labels will print automatically, formatted according to the crossdock partner’s requirements.
Despatching a Shipping Order
When the shipping order is complete and ready for delivery, click the Ship button. This sends the order to the cross-dock partner and makes it available to the Distribution Centre. Before despatch you can still modify the shipping order, reprint or delete labels, and assign sales orders.
⚠️ Be aware that once you have despatched a shipping order you cannot make any more changes to it. However, you can easily create a new shipping order
